This is my very first time to host a blog hop (insert nervousness). This is a big one (insert excitement)! 50 bloggers! What do we all have in common? Answer: our love for scrapbooking and Let's Scrap (one of my fav scrapbooking sites) is always a great stop when you are having a bit of creative block, need some inspiration, or just want to see what others are doing.
Here is the sketch I am showcasing for the hop:
Here's how I interpreted the sketch:
Once I got out all of the supplies...I couldn't stop at just one. Besides following a sketch, they do have other similarities.
Both cards feature:and
- Valentine doilies
- Layered accents (using pop dots and foam squares)
- Baker's twine (who doesn't love baker's twine?)
- Pre-made embellishments
- Glittery accents (too bad glitter doesn't sparkle on your monitor, eh?)
Now for the fun part! If you play along, I will be drawing a random winner for this Sew-Easy paper-piercing gift from We R MemoryKeepers (my first ever give-away on the blog...how exciting!).
Wanna win? It's so easy:
Wanna win? It's so easy:
*Be (or become a member of Let’s Scrap which you can do by clicking here). It's free, easy and fast! Once you get there, I am sure you will love it! You can see much more of my work there. Take a long look around.
*Become a follower of my blog
*Leave me a comment and tell me which card example you liked best
And if you would like a second chance in the draw:*Make a card from this sketch (they do not have to be Valentines) and upload it to the gallery at Let’s Scrap. Please tag your creation: 10-19-11, LEAP10 (please note there is a space after the comma and LEAP is all capital letters). I can't wait to see your take on the sketch!
*Come back here to and leave me a comment letting me know that you have uploaded your card on Let’s Scrap.
You've got exactly 29 days to enter the contest (use your extra day in February wisely). (The hop ends at 11:59 pm Central Standard time February 29, using the clock on the main page of Let’s Scrap.)Your next stop for the blog hop is:
If you get lost along the way or have joined the hop in the middle, go back and visit Mindi Brown as she is the beginning of the hop. You don’t want to miss any of the fun!
I hope you've enjoyed your stay here. Come back. Visit often.
They both have beautiful layering!! If I HAD to pick, it would be card A, but just by a hair!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting!
Mindi
Oh.. I hate having to choose favourites.. I like them both - card A because it is a little more fancy.. and card B because it is clean and simple.
ReplyDeleteSince I'm a CAS kind of girl I think I have to pick card B.
I love both cards, Judy, be the busier (more vintage) card (A) speaks loudest to me! I love the depth you have created by your layering!!
ReplyDeleteBotha are super, but if I MUST choose, then card A because I love the way you interpreted the sketch with the words!
ReplyDeleteLove card A - such romantic swirls and beautiful piecings!
ReplyDeleteI love both cards. Since you want us to choose one it would be card A. A lot of detail and work involved on the card. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIsaiah95 is Diane Carter

Thank you so much for hosting the Let's Scrap blog hop. I love both your cards but Card B is the one I love best, the red doily heart just makes everything pop on the card.

ReplyDeleteI am a long-time member at LS, and have become a follower on your blog!
Both of your cards are great, but I love the first one most because 1. I am not fond of white space and 2. I love the mix of patterns, textures, colors with your word paper, swirl, border, doilies and chipboard! And that is an awesome RAK for one lucky winner!
They're both beautiful cards so it's hard to choose...but I love the hearts dangling from the twine on the card B. I've been a member of LS, and I've joined your blog =) Thanks for being a fellow host...this will be such a fun hop!
ReplyDeletecute, cute, cute! how do you choose? i think i'm liking card b - both have such wonderful dimension. i am a follower and a LS member.
